Cyprus/ Kyprus -
Two mountain ranges cross Cyprus from west to east, the Tróodos Massif covers most of southwest Cyprus and the Pentadaktylos Range the north. Between both the fertile Mesaoría plain spreads out with Lefkosía (Nicosia) the capital city in the centre of it. Remains of its rich ancient history are found at Sálamis, Koúrion, and Káto Páfos. The Byzantine monasteries of Kykkou or Asinoú are high up in tranquil mountains. Sandy beaches are found at Lára Beach, Governor’s Beach, and around Agía Nápa.
