Tenerife & La Gomera -
Tenerife is dominated by a volcanic mass in its center, one of the world‘s biggest calderas. Spain‘s highest mountain the Pico de Teide (3.718 m) arises inside it. The northern Part of Tenerife is green and humid, especially in the Orotava Valley, and the South has a more arid landscape.
There is a well operating public bus system, called "Guagua" throughout the island and a light rail between La Laguna and Santa Cruz; most travelers prefer rental cars though. The roads are generally in good condition.
