Thailand North -
Northern Thailand has diverse landscapes: In the N-W are high mountains with Doi Inthanon (2,576m). The mountains mainly along the border to Myanmar are predominantly covered with large rainforests. Huge natural lime-stone caves are scattered through the region. In the E it's more hilly and wide, fertile valleys are found; rice is the main crop. The Mekong River is the borderline in the N-E. The mountain areas are home of various hill tribes, as the Akha, Hmong, Lisu, and Karen.
